I’m seeking clarification on the provisional merit list for Assistant Director Technical. As per ESTA code, experience marks are mandatory. My queries:
– Will experience marks be added before or after the interview?
– Are experience marks considered for shortlisting candidates for interviews?
– Do departments add experience marks post-interview during final merit calculation?

– BSc (no MSc)
– 4 years relevant govt experience
– Merit position (without experience ): 167
– Merit position (with experience ): 1

Thanks for your query.
Experience is part of the merit formula and should be counted before the interview and in final merit, not separately after interview.
Whether you get called for interview also depends on meeting minimum percentage criteria and rules set in the PDA job advertisement.
Experience may influence ranking but shortlisting normally follows the published criteria first.
I think you should ask from ETEA for clarification.
ETEA told me that experience marks are given by the concerned department, they only prepare and send the list based on education and higher qualifications. The list is then sorted by age, with older candidates at the top.
I am concerned about my position being low due to this sorting. However, with 10 experience marks from my govt experience, I could potentially top the merit list if experience marks are added.
Now I want to ask
– Will the department invite me for the interview based on experience marks being added?
– Does ESTA code say experience marks are added for shortlisting?
