 About the Centre of Excellence for CPEC

The Centre of Excellence for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CoE-CPEC) operates under the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives and is hosted by the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), the nation’s premier economic think tank since 1957. This initiative is dedicated to producing high-quality, evidence-based research to inform and shape Pakistan’s socio-economic future within the CPEC framework. The Centre is now building its core team and invites applications from qualified, dynamic professionals to fill key roles on a two-year project-based contract, extendable based on performance.

 General Terms, Conditions & Eligibility

• Contract Duration: Initial appointment is for two years on a PSDP project basis, with the potential for annual extension subject to satisfactory performance.

• Government Employees: Candidates currently serving in government/public sector organizations must apply through the proper channel (with NOC).

• Right of Authority: The CoE-CPEC reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process, not fill any position, or withhold appointments without providing a reason.

CPEC Jobs 2026: The Selection Process

 Online Application Screening: Based on eligibility and completeness as per the published TORs.
 Shortlisting: A committee will shortlist candidates based on merit, qualifications, and experience relevant to the CPEC mandate.
 Interview/Assessment: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview and/or a written assessment to evaluate their expertise and strategic thinking.
 Final Appointment: Successful candidates will receive a two-year project-based contract offer.

 Technical Insight: Advanced AI Features in ChatGPT

OpenAI’s ChatGPT has introduced advanced reasoning capabilities through its o1 and o1-mini model series, which utilize a process-based reward model (PRM) and internal Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) for enhanced deliberation. Unlike standard next-token prediction, these models engage in extensive “chain-of-thought” reasoning internally before generating a final output, allowing them to solve complex multi-step problems in mathematics, coding, and scientific reasoning with significantly higher accuracy. The system’s architecture supports extended context windows of up to 128K tokens, enabling deep analysis of lengthy documents, legal contracts, or technical research papers within a single session. A multi-modal vision capability that allows the model to interpret images, charts, schematics, and handwritten notes, extracting and reasoning about visual information to provide comprehensive answers.

A pivotal development is the introduction of customizable “GPTs” and the Assistants API, which allow users and developers to create specialized AI agents with specific instructions, knowledge files, and integrated function calling. This enables the deployment of tailored research assistants, data analysis bots, or policy drafting tools that can interact with external databases and software. Furthermore, OpenAI has implemented a structured output feature (JSON mode) that forces the model to generate responses in a precise, machine-parsable format, crucial for automating workflows and integrating AI into production systems. These features, combined with rigorous safety fine-tuning through reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), position ChatGPT as a powerful platform for developing sophisticated, domain-specific analytical and creative applications.
